I've spent my career believing in one simple idea: art transcends boundaries and connects people.
I'm the Founder, President and a Board Member of Asian Arts New York, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving, celebrating and advancing Asian arts and cultural traditions throughout New York State. I started AANY to create opportunities for Asian artists, foster cultural exchange and strengthen connections across diverse communities. In its very first year, AANY grew into a recognized Pan-Asian arts organization, securing multiple New York State grants and presenting programs in music, dance, visual arts, education and community engagement.
In 2025, I received formal proclamations from the New York State Senate and the New York State Comptroller for my contributions to cultural preservation, and in 2024, I was honored as one of the Distinguished Women of District 110. Before founding AANY, I spent three years as President of the Chinese Community Center of the Capital District, where our organization expanded its community impact, received the Global Citizenship Award from the International Center of the Capital Region and helped secure state funding for programs and building renovations.
Every part of that work has taught me the same lesson: communities grow stronger when people come together across differences, share their stories and support one another. That belief is exactly why I said yes to Rock Your Style.
Cancer touches families across every culture and community, and the same spirit that builds a stage for artists to be seen and heard is the spirit that can help a family feel less alone during treatment. Walking this runway is my way of extending the work I do every day, bringing people together for something bigger than any one of us, in support of the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation.
I believe cultural diversity strengthens the prosperity and vitality of our region, and I believe the same is true of community support in the face of illness. Thank you for joining me on this walk.
