Join us for our annual Thadd's Place Race/Walk to Remember. All proceeds benefit Thadd's Place where nobody grieves alone. You have the option of choosing the 5K, 10K or 1.5 mile walk. The race will begin and end at 7th Street Park in John Day. The race begins at 8 am and prizes will be awarded for each age group.

There are some people whose impact on a community continues long after they are gone.

Thadd was one of those people.

Thaddeus Cowan Thompson loved Grant County. He loved the people, the community, and the place he was proud to call home. When we lost Thadd in 2019 after his courageous battle with cancer, his family and community were left to grieve—but his legacy of caring for others continues through Thadd’s Place.

And now, we invite you to help us carry that legacy forward.
