About Operation Raider Home for the Holidays

For many of the Airmen of Ellsworth AFB, it is their first assignment and they cannot afford the expense to travel home over the holidays to see loved ones. Due to location and geography, many of these Airmen feel isolated, especially during the holiday season. With a renewed focus, we intend to make this a large and ever-growing program. Across the nation, similar programs are always well received and have been showcased as a best practice. Your contribution will help to send Airmen home to their loved ones during the holiday season.

Funds will be collected, consolidated, earmarked, and donated to the on-base private organization which manages the Home for the Holidays program. Eligible military members will then submit applications for this program. A panel will subsequently review all applications and based on available funds, will then select award recipients. 100% of net proceeds will be used for this program.

Feedback from recent beneficiaries of this program:

“I had a great experience with “Home for the Holidays”, the gift helped me tremendously. I was able to cover my expenses to travel and see my extended family for the first time which was an amazing experience. I was not sure how I would have been able to accomplish that holiday experience without receiving that gift.”

“Your gift provided us with the financial means to stay longer than we had planned, easing the burden of the unexpected circumstance. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to focus on my recovery without the added stress of financial worries…not only helped us navigate a crisis but also created an opportunity for me to connect with my grandfather in a way I never had before. The Home for the Holidays program makes a real difference, even when you least expect it.”

“I want to sincerely thank each of you for your generosity and support in helping me get home for the holidays. Your kindness made a meaningful difference for me and my family. Being able to spend time at home uplifted my loved one’s energy in ways that I can’t truthfully express. It also boosted my spirit and motivation. The opportunity to reconnect, recoup, and recharge strengthen my drive to return focused and ready to work harder in support of the Ellsworth AFB mission. Your support was way more than financial assistance…it was a reminder of the strength of our community and the care we have for one another. I am truthfully grateful and will continue striving to give my very best in everything I do.”
