Read-A-Thon 2025: Reading Opens Doors to Other Worlds!!!!

Read-A-Thon has it all - fun, prizes, spirit, competition - all to benefit Fairview!

How does Read-A-Thon work?

1. Set goals and get sponsors: Each student will set their reading minutes goal. They should also recruit sponsors - friends and family who will support Fairview with a donation if and when the student achieves their reading goals.

2. Read and Track: Students read as much as possible, and track every minute they read all week!

3. Get Donations: Reach out to your sponsors to share your success and let them know when it's time to donate. (They can donate online or you can bring cash in an envelope to the main office).

4. Celebrate! Prizes are awarded for individual participation, and to recognize total classroom and all-school achievement! Everyone who tracks their minutes has a chance to win!

Our school goals are: 120,000 minutes read and $13,000 raised

During Read-A-Thon, each student should read as much as possible (homework reading plus more!). Students are asked to set goals for themselves and strive to reach them. Each student who participates will be entered into a raffle. Classrooms also set goals. Fairview’s goal is to read over 120,000 minutes in 7 days! Students and classrooms will be recognized for their efforts. More prizes have been added this year to recognize student participation!

Raising money for our school is an important part of the Read-A-Thon. All money collected will support Fairview. Please sign up sponsors from among your family, friends, and co-workers. Please do not allow your students to ask strangers for donations. Sponsors should pledge a flat rate to help support students’ reading goals. Please see the Read-A-Thon packet for further details.

How to set up a personal fundraising page:

Click "Add Your Student" (this is a button just below the photo of Fairview and progress tracker)
Fill out the information to set up a fundraising page for your student
- Story and pictures are optional, but will help with fundraising
There are options to share via text, email or on social media to let family and friends know about your student's reading and fundraising goal
You can share the personal fundraising page with family and friends to submit their funds at the end of Read-A-Thon
Families with multiple students: Parents/adults can set up multiple accounts for their children using different email addresses. Or, you can use the same email address by adding a "+1", "+2", etc. before the "@" symbol in the email address. For example: example@gmail.com then example+1@gmail.com. The emails will go to the original email address. This trick works for Gmail addresses, but success may vary with other email providers. Using this method allows you to register the same email address multiple times, as the system recognizes them as different logins.
