On Friday, March 20, 2026, 700 animals, an estimated 400 dogs and 300 cats, were rescued from a single property in Los Angeles. 700.

For context, LA County and City shelters are already facing a severe overcrowding crisis, with over 2,000 dogs currently in the system. These 400 dogs have no chance of survival without fosters and funds.

The Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control said it is the largest number of cats and dogs ever seized in an operation in Los Angeles and might be the largest such case ever in the United States.

Real Good wants to rescue some of these dogs and bring them into our care ASAP.

90% of the dogs we rescue need medical care, ranging from costs of $2,500 on the low end to $30,000 on the high end.
We also go above and beyond to ensure that every dog is well-balanced and ready for a permanent home. This means about 75% go through board and train programs to learn manners, social skills, leash training, etc. These training programs cost an average of $750 a week with most dogs needing a minimum of 4 weeks
