"Dynamic Duo: Reimagined Fashion Friendship"
"Thrifted Stitches" owner Melissa Inkel Tomolonius and "The Art Room" owner Katherine Tolve are thrilled to announce their collaboration to create upcycled fashion pieces, specially designed for their tween daughters, who will grace the runway together in a tandem walk. We firmly believe that tailoring fashion for tweens that reflects their unique style and preferences will bring a refreshing and distinctive element to the show.
Our fashion designs go beyond conventional materials, creatively repurposing discarded items like worn-out painter's drop cloths, wrinkled brown paper bags, a stained old shirt, disused TJ Maxx bags, discontinued fabric remnants, and old work gloves. This innovative approach invites a reevaluation of consumer choices, promoting more responsible consumption. By breathing new life into these materials, we aim to inspire eco-consciousness and a sustainable lifestyle.

Furthermore, we're making a powerful statement by featuring our tween daughters as models in our show. Their presence serves as a subtle yet impactful message to the next generation, who will inherit the consequences of our discarded waste. Through our designs and youthful representation on the runway, we strive to raise awareness of environmental challenges and cultivate a sense of responsibility in our children and future generations.

"We are thrilled to announce that our chosen organization to fundraise for is the Windsor Locks Arts Council. As a non-profit, the Arts Council plays a vital role in enriching our community. Given that The Art Room and Thrifted Stitches are both creative businesses located in Windsor Locks, we believe it's a perfect fit to support this organization."
