WHO WE ARE

Refuge for Women Chicago is a non-profit organization that empowers sexually exploited women to live a life of freedom through faith-based, residential healing programs.

At no charge to the residents, we offer 12 months of safe housing with 24/7 staffing as they progress through evidence-based, trauma-informed programming. Residents work through the program to reclaim their identities, reach their goals to overcome addictions, heal from trauma, and develop life skills leading to healthy, balanced living and financial independence.

EVENT PURPOSE

Our goal for the Gala at the Farmstead is to raise $100,000 in critical funds to:

Reach more survivors with restoration and healing through our Long Term Program Home.
Increase post-graduate success through our new Transitional Living Home.
Prepare for organizational growth: Establish a 10-15-bed Emergency Housing facility in McHenry County for immediate safety, stabilization, and case management in the next 5 years.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: ALIA AZARIAH

It's our sincerest honor to present Keynote Speaker and Refuge for Women Chicago 2018 graduate: Alia Azariah.

Alia is an inspirational survivor of human trafficking who has transformed her traumatic experiences into a powerful educational journey. Having been sex trafficked both as an adult and a minor, Alia found healing and empowerment through dedicated aftercare services. Alia aims to convey a crucial message: we all have a part to play in the fight against trafficking, and every survivor is worth fighting for. Her mission is to inspire change and unity in the fight against human trafficking.

She is currently the Director of Aftercare at Safe House Project, and it's our honor to have her back in the area to share her heart, experience, and motivate you!
