Story
Rent for Moms will help over 50 moms pay rent in Boston (MA), Binghamton (NY), Cleveland (OH), Fort Lee (NJ), Oklahoma City (OK), Portland (OR), Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth (TX) & Washington, DC.
Though white and non-Black folks are often eager to give money around the holidays, this radical campaign moves beyond saviorism and challenges the systemic issues that maintain the need for feel-good campaigns like toys drives and giving trees, all the way back to their sources.
Your donation to Rent for Moms can help a family have a safe and happy holiday season.
When Black moms are supported, Black communities are supported. Black women are the driving force in keeping generations of families and neighborhoods together. When housing is not a stressor, people are able to secure better jobs and build better family and community connections.
“We’re inviting individuals, community groups, and businesses to make a pledge to raise funds for Rent for Moms. Whether it’s $250, $500, $1000 or more. We’ve got toolkits and resources to help you reach that goal. You won’t be doing it alone and you’ll be helping secure housing for over 50 families this holiday season.” @TheDiDiDelgado
Working together with other Black organizers, in 2022 we were able to create and move resources in a big way, raising more than $100,000 in just 46 days. This holiday season, we need you to show up to reach our ambitious goal of raising $100,000 by 25 December 2023!
How? Click on the +Fundraise button near the top of this page to set up your own Rent For Moms giving page and fundraising goal right here on Givebutter. All donations raised by team members are automatically added to the overall fundraising goal!
Once you've done that, it's time to start sharing on social media.
The White Labor Collective is a membership community designed for non-Black accomplices committed to dismantling systemic racism. In exchange for a monthly subscription fee, members gain access to a wealth of resources, including educational materials, expert-led webinars, and workshops that dive deep into the intricacies of institutional, individual, ideological, and interpersonal racism. The community provides a supportive environment for learning and growth, allowing members the space to make mistakes as they deepen their understanding of racial justice.
If you aren’t already a member, join our radical community! Cuz reparations are for Winter Solstice, Thanksgiving, Festivus, Chanukah, Kwanzaa, Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's, and all the days in between.
Restore National engages in Black liberation work through a reparations lens. Our team provides resources and funds to those living at the intersections of anti-Blackness, sexism, classism, queerphobia and ableism, while providing hands-on antiracism and social justice education to non-Black people.
Restore National, Inc. is a 501c3 community organization.
