Maxine has been a beloved resident at Unity Farm Sanctuary for over a dozen years. Originally listed on Craigslist for $100 when her former farm closed, she was later purchased to protect goats from coyotes before finding her forever home at UFS.

In late 2021, Maxine underwent surgery to remove an infected molar root discovered on her right jaw. Despite this health scare, she quickly recovered and resumed her role as the charismatic greeter at the Welcoming Corner Paddock.

We can’t know exactly how old Maxine is, but she is youthful and has plenty of llama attitude! Some days she will come up and sniff your shampoo, and some days she is very much our beloved Diva of the Welcoming Corner, a little aloof and filled with mysterious charm.
