Lollipop and Boomer arrived at Unity Farm Sanctuary in late summer 2020 as companions for an autistic granddaughter after the loss of her older horse to cancer. Their previous owner surrendered them when Boomer became seriously ill post-castration, fearing for his survival and knowing Lollipop's strong bond with him.
Lollipop is known for her sassy and self-confident personality, resembling the spirited nature of small dogs. She arrived with persistent diarrhea, which was managed through careful dietary adjustments like grazing muzzles.
Miniature horses, originally bred in Europe from the 1600s to replace children in coal mines, became favorites among royalty and the wealthy. Despite their small size and charming appearance, they often face health challenges due to dwarfism genes, requiring specialized veterinary care adapted to their miniature stature.
Support Team Lollipop Minihorse and help us provide ongoing care and love to Lollipop and her mini companions at Unity Farm Sanctuary!
