Osa Pig arrived at Unity Farm Sanctuary with her sister Leona, after being raised from babies as a personal project by a young woman in Sherborn during a gap year of college. When the woman returned to school, she made the compassionate decision not to send them to breeding or slaughter and brought them to the sanctuary.
Sadly, Leona passed away from cardiac illnesses, but Osa remains at the sanctuary, reigning as the queen of the paddock. Despite not being the largest physically, she possesses the strongest personality.
Osa is an Idaho Pasture Pig, a cross between a Kune Kune and a Hampshire, which gives her the distinctive flat, upturned nose of the Kune Kune breed. Her presence adds charm and character to the sanctuary, where she continues to enjoy a life free from the pressures of breeding or slaughter.
Will you support Osa so she doesn’t have to ever worry about the future again?
