We’re proud of the progress made together in 2023, thanks to supporters like you championing our mission against domestic and sexual assault. To name a few:

- Michigan’s 2023 budget recognized domestic and sexual violence agencies for the first time, thanks to Resilience’s advocacy. Our Interim Executive Director and Program Director, Megan Hennessey, addressed Michigan’s Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee to secure this historic, statewide support.

- In September, our Survivor Advisory Council presented in Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit, urging legislators to pass a bill package preventing convicted domestic violence offenders from owning firearms for eight years post-sentence. Gabby and others shared their stories, and the bills advanced.

- The Lakeshore Alliance Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, led by our Prevention Coordinator, Lesley Coghill, drives local change. Resilience continues to lead in our mission to prevent abuse.

- Attorney General Dana Nessel visited Resilience to discuss the new Address Confidentiality Program, offering survivors a confidential address option. Resilience now assists with program applications.

Despite our achievements, ongoing challenges persist in domestic and sexual violence, impacting the legal system and victim safety.
