When service members take the oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, the United States promises to care for them in return. However, navigating access to their earned benefits is complex. That’s where the VFW’s National Veterans Service comes in. Through this important program, our highly trained, skilled experts work directly with veterans to secure their benefits and compensation from the Department of Veterans Affairs for life, 100% FREE of charge.

Veterans receive $16.2 billion in earned benefits annually as a result of this VFW program thanks to the generosity of patriotic Americans.

Our skilled experts, commonly referred to as VFW Accredited Service Officers participate in continuous training and meet the highest moral and ethical standards needed to obtain accreditation by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), making it legal to assist veterans with filing a claim. We develop their VA claim by reviewing and applying current law, pertinent legislation, regulations and medical histories. We assist in filing for disability compensation, rehabilitation and education programs, pension and death benefits, and employment and training programs.

Donation conversions are based on the collective amount of benefits returned to veterans through new and existing claims divided by the VFW's National Veterans Service operating budget for fiscal year 2024-2025.
