India still accounts for 60% of the world’s leprosy cases, with over 1,000 leprosy colonies. The good news is that leprosy is curable, and there is hope. However, fear and stigma often prevent early detection and the necessary steps to overcome this disease.

⭐ Rising Star Outreach⭐, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, empowers individuals and families to rise above the stigma associated with leprosy and to live healthy, productive lives through quality education, medical care, and community development.

If you crave adventure and want to make a difference, Over The Edge is for you! Fundraising reaches new heights as participants rappel down the side of the 5-story Podium Building in Lehi, Utah. It's a big leap for our rappellers, but a huge victory over leprosy. 🧗‍♀️

Rising Star Outreach’s mission is to eradicate the devastating effects of leprosy throughout India through a three-pronged approach:

EDUCATION: We create and support educational programs for children living in leprosy colonies and neighboring villages to foster equal opportunity, integration, and erase the stigma associated with leprosy.

MEDICAL CARE: Through mobile clinics and partnerships with area hospitals and health professionals, we provide critical medical care, dental care, mobility assistance devices, vision care, and an aggressive screening program to identify cases of leprosy for proper treatment.

COLONY DEVELOPMENT: We facilitate infrastructure growth and community development within India’s leprosy colonies to improve living conditions, productivity, self-sufficiency, and long-term sustainability for individuals, families, and the community as a whole.
