We are closing in on the 53rd annual NYC marathon, and as always, a team of dedicated PS3 staff, parents, and friends will be running to raise money for our school. Please consider donating to support them and, in turn, our incredible community. All funds raised will directly support additional arts educational programming in music, clay, science as well as supporting teaching staff, community partnerships, school supplies and much, much more.

Catt Slavin: Kindergarten teacher at PS3.

"I have been a part of the PS3 community for the past eight years. I taught 2/3 for three years, first grade for 3 years, and Kindergarten for the past 2 years. I have been an avid runner since college and since then I've completed the Marine Corps Marathon, Hamptons Marathon, the Los Angeles Marathon and the Long Island Marathon. November 3rd marks my 5th NYC marathon which I’m super proud of. My favorite part of running the NYC Marathon is seeing family, friends, current students, former students and their families, and my amazing colleagues along the course. I hope to inspire my current and former students to believe anything is possible if you set goals, and work hard to achieve them."

"I’ve been very lucky to call PS3 my home away from home for the past 16 years. It takes a village and there is no village quite like PS3. I love my students, parents, and colleagues!

This will be my 2nd NYC Marathon and third overall. I have also run Chicago. I’ve run 12 half marathons, including ones in Boston, Philly, and Austin. My running journey has not been easy but I hope that I can show my sons and my students that even if a goal seems far off, you can get there by chipping away one step at a time."

Jana Browne: PS3 parent to Chloe Browne, in Jack's 2nd grade class.

"My name is Jana Browne and my daughter’s name is Chloe Browne. Chloe is in 2nd grade. We are happy to be a part of the PS3 community.

I’m originally from the Czech Republic. When I saw the NYC Marathon for my first time in Central Park, it became my dream to accomplish this race at least once in my life. Since then I have become an avid runner and participated in numerous races globally. I have completed 5 NYC Marathons and this year will be my 6th."
