A Safe Space for Girls

Grace Villa sanctuary for vulnerable girls in Kabale, South Western Uganda turns 10 years old this year! And we are filled with sooo much gratitude and joy. 10 years of rescuing children from abandonment, early marriages, child labor, abuse and more, in partnership with the Kabale police, probation officers and the concerned community.

From the moment a child enters our gate she is safe, valued and empowered through counseling and mentoring, health care and good nutrition, education, sports and vocational skilling - while steps are taken towards reunification and reintegration with safe surviving relatives and foster families.

Our programs spill over into the community, and several Grace Villa girls are already making an impact in their families, & various walks of life around the world!

400+ children who have been impacted by our programs, with the support of amazing people from all walks of life and all around the world who uplift us so beautifully.

To celebrate, we will hold a series of events - from July 7th to July 12th.

3 ways to get involved:

1. The Kabale Marathon (physical or virtual).

2. Virtual Runs! For those who can't make it to Kabale, we have these 2 options for you. Run virtually on the day of the Kabale Marathon or join our 40 Day Challenge from May 30th til the Kabale Marathon: July 8th. Bike, run, walk, roll for a vulnerable child.

3. Start a Fundraising Page of your own!
All funds raised will ensure that we are able to rescue, nurture and empower at-risk children for many more years to come.

If 200+ people commit to run, walk, bike 200 km each in 40 days (5km per day), this equals an accumulative 40,000 kilometers. The circumference of the earth is 40,000km. Which means, we will have successfully run around the world for a vulnerable child!

It’s very beautiful here.
With rolling, misty terraced hills as far as the eye can see, lovely weather and friendly people. Kabale is also the gateway to some of the worlds greatest natural wonders. From an impenetrable forest (Bwindi) where prehistoric trees and the glorious silverback mountain gorilla are, to Lake Bunyonyi - one of the deepest lakes in Africa - famous for the birds after which it was name.

Another exciting claim to fame: Lake Bunyonyi featured in the Marvel movie “Black Panther”! This is where the scenic view of Wakanda was shot. And this is where the Grace Villa @10 celebrations will take place.

Combining fitness, adventure, camaraderie and charity, this is an event you will never forget.
