We have known Ruth for 15 years and could not think of a better person to be caring, raising, nurturing, guiding, and loving the 30 girls in her home and ~200 in her community. Ruth supports the whole child, from education to healthcare to culturally important song and dance.
Last year, we were moved to hear that one of the oldest girls, who is now a young woman in college and working, not only surprised Ruth with land she had saved up enough money to purchase, but wanted all her sisters who were old enough to sign the papers so they could co-own the land together. Grace Villa is now farming this land and harvested their first crops two months ago, bringing much needed food security to their home. This story captures so much of what makes Grace Villa special, sustainable, and regenerative.
We are honored to visit Ruth and her girls this July and are delighted to raise funds to help them achieve their next goal - adding showers, a sick bay, and vocational space to their home!
As the girls say at Grace Villa, "We rise by lifting others"... Thank you for your support of any amount and rising with us!
