Shaniko Music Sanctuary is dedicated to expanding music education in rural Oregon, and is supported by a growing network of local partners. While we are most well-known for our main fundraising event, the annual Tygh Valley Bluegrass Jamboree, we have some other nifty programming up our sleeves, too.

Our long-term goal is to supporting the next generation of musicians in rural Central Oregon

A key element to our success is activating the community. We recognize that sharing resources between us maximizes our impact by approaching accessibility to the arts as a unified region. Our primary service began as a simple outreach-and-response to the needs of advocates servicing low-income individuals. The scope is strategically expanding this year with the launch of two new programs to include multi-county arts visioning and a rotating Artist in Residence (in partnership with the Oregon Bluegrass Association). Through these programs, we empower local voices to collaborate, learn from one another, and to work cohesively – while also offering a safe platform for those in need to share with us.

Thus far:
