The Oklahoma Cowboys Clinic Program is a youth-focused initiative designed to prepare participants for various rodeo events, helping them develop the essential skills, techniques, and mental toughness needed to compete successfully. The program offers a structured, hands-on learning experience for young riders, focusing on skill development, safety education, and mental preparation. Participants will gain practical experience and training in events such as barrel racing, steer wrestling, team roping, and tie-down roping. Through focused instruction and real-time practice, the clinic equips riders with the confidence and abilities to excel in the arena and beyond.

1. What is the Oklahoma Cowboys Clinic Program?

The Oklahoma Cowboys Clinic is a hands-on training program designed to teach young riders the essential skills needed for various rodeo events. Our goal is to develop their confidence, technique, and understanding of rodeo in a safe, structured, and supportive environment.

2. Who can participate?

The clinic is open to youth in two age groups:

11 & under
12-17 years old
We welcome riders of all skill levels, from beginners to those preparing for rodeo competitions.

3. What events and skills will my child learn?

Participants will receive training in:

Barrel Racing
Roping Events
Bull Riding
Mutton Busting & Mini Bull
Horsemanship
Pony Express

Along with hands-on skills, riders will also learn safety techniques, mental preparation, and horsemanship fundamentals.

4. How many kids will be in each clinic?

Each session is limited to 15 participants to ensure individual attention and quality instruction.

5. How many sessions are available?

There will be 5 individual clinics throughout the season, accommodating up to 75 young riders total.

6. How is safety addressed during the clinic?

Safety is a top priority. We maintain a 3:5 coach-to-student ratio, ensuring close supervision. Each session emphasizes proper technique, equipment use, and risk management to create a safe learning environment

7. Does my child need prior rodeo experience?

No! We offer Beginner & Intermediate Clinics for those just starting out and Advanced & Ready to Rodeo Clinics for experienced riders.

8. What happens in case of bad weather?

We will notify participants as early as possible if a clinic is postponed due to weather conditions. Rescheduled dates will be provided.

9. How can I support my child’s rodeo journey outside of the clinic?

Encourage them to practice regularly, attend local rodeo events, and stay positive even when facing challenges. Rodeo is about growth, patience, and perseverance! We have a list of open rodeo your child can participate in

10. Is there financial assistance or sponsorships available?

The Oklahoma Cowboys Charitable Foundation works to keep training affordable. Scholarships or sponsorship opportunities may be available—please reach out for details.

11. Can siblings or friends join the same session?

Yes, as long as they are in the same age group and there is availability in the session.

12. Can parents stay and watch?

Yes! Parents are welcome to observe from designated viewing areas.
