Update 5/11

Hi Everyone,

B once again needs our help. Unfortunately, They have had a much longer road to recovery and multiple medical emergencies due to complications from surgery leading to dwindling funds. Additionally, they and their partner are having a hard time getting accepted for an apartment

We have raised the goal to $3500 so V can have food to eat, money for medicine and follow up appointments with their doctors.

Additionally, because B has not found new accomodations, B is stuck in a physically abusive home with Transphobic family. This has led to some serious issues

Recently when a family member left, they took all the food in the house with them, even B's. They almost starved until a community member sent them some money for food. However, they cannot prep or cook anything over the stove as they are still recovering from surgery and don't have the strength.

Hi Folks,

I’m reaching out with an urgent plea for help. B is in immediate danger. It's father has become increasingly violent, and just recently, B had to barricade itself in its room to avoid further assault that could have killed B.

It has never been more urgent than now to reach B's goal as soon as possible. B needs a safe place to live and recover from it's medically necessary surgeries. Every second B remains in this environment puts its life at risk.

Hi Everyone,

I’m writing this on behalf of my dear friend B, a 19-year-old transgender person from the Deep South who is in an incredibly dangerous and life-threatening situation. B has spent their entire life in an abusive home with a transphobic family who has made their existence unbearable. They’ve been repeatedly kicked out, physically and emotionally abused, and denied basic necessities like safe food and water. B has been harassed, threatened, and even beaten because of their identity. When they’ve needed urgent medical care, their family refused to help, leaving them to suffer alone.

The constant abuse has pushed B to the brink, and they’ve struggled with thoughts of ending their life. They’ve been institutionalized multiple times due to the immense toll this has taken on their mental health. Recently, the situation escalated, and B has found themselves homeless on and off, even while recovering from a serious surgery. They are still healing from that surgery today.

To make things even more difficult, B is functionally disabled due to dysautonomia and a compromised immune system. Most days, they are unable to complete basic tasks like bathing, eating, or doing anything physically strenuous. They rely on a cane to walk, which makes escaping their current situation even more challenging.

B is raising $3,000 to help them break free from this dangerous environment and begin a new life in a safe, LGBTQ-affirming place. The funds will be used for:

Immediate shelter near their current home to recover safely while attending follow-up appointments with their surgeon through March
A U-Haul rental to move
Hotels/motels during the journey
Food, water, gas, and daily essentials
An emergency fund for unexpected needs

If donations exceed the $3,000 goal, the additional funds to the Queer Liberation Front, in order to help other LGBTQ folks flee dangerous situations.

B is one of the kindest, bravest people I know, and it breaks my heart to see them go through this. Any support you can provide—whether it’s a donation, sharing this fundraiser, or both—can truly save their life.
