Since its inception in August 1990, Vida en el Valle has relied on advertising support to maintain its journalistic mission of covering news that is often overlooked by other media outlets. Vida en el Valle has not been shielded from the financial hits that newspapers have taken in recent years, and has set a path toward its digital present and future to continue its mission of providing the Latino community with a valuable source of information. We have partnered with the Latino Community Foundation to provide news and information about the coronavirus and voter engagement. Vida en el Valle has worked with Ethnic Media Services, CalMatters, USC Annenberg School of Journalism, and Kaiser Health News to provide additional information to its readers.

But we still need your help supporting expanded coverage related to health, environment and climate impacts specific to the region's Latino communities.

Vida en el Valle has been named the country’s best bilingual publication 14 times by the National Association of Hispanic Publications. Its journalists have won national and state awards for their coverage of politics, culture, health, education, business and sports, both through words and photographs. As Latino demographics have changed the landscape, Vida en el Valle needs to keep pace with reporting on how policy decisions impact Latinos, especially on health, environment and climate.
