For the past several years, we've been incredibly fortunate.

A fellow rescue has generously allowed the Street Cats Club to borrow one of their cargo vans whenever possible. That borrowed van has helped transport hundreds of cats to spay/neuter appointments, emergency veterinary care, foster homes, and partner rescues.

But it was always meant to be a temporary solution.

During the summer months, we can no longer safely transport cats in it because the cargo area has no air conditioning. When outside temperatures climb into the 90s and beyond, the back of the van becomes too hot for the cats we're trying to save.

Now, we're asking our community to help us take the next step.

We need a vehicle large enough to transport 40+ cats at a time so that we can continue to do high-volume TNR.

Why We Need a Van

The Street Cats Club is one of Kansas' most active Trap-Neuter-Return organizations.

Since launching our high-volume TNR program, we've helped more than 2,700 cats receive life-saving spay/neuter surgeries, preventing an estimated 30,000+ kittens from being born into homelessness.

And we're just getting started.

This year alone, we're on pace to help more cats than ever before.

But transportation has become one of our biggest barriers.

A dedicated transport van would allow us to:

Safely transport up to 40 cats at one time
Expand high-volume TNR clinics
Travel to underserved rural communities
Reduce wear and tear on volunteer vehicles
Keep cats safer and more comfortable during transport

The passenger van we hope to buy is currently being held at a local dealership (thank you, Becker Auto Sales!).

The Street Cats Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization and licensed animal shelter operating out of Emporia, Kansas. We provide high-volume trap/neuter/return, along with a variety of community outreach programs.

The purpose of the Street Cats Club is to improve the lives of stray cats. We achieve this by:

controlling and reducing the growth of the community cat population through sterilization via trap/neuter/return
supporting cat colony caregivers with resources such as cat food and winter shelters
preventing unwanted kittens by providing no-cost spay/neuter for low-income cat owners
fostering sick, injured, and orphaned stray cats
