SEED is the nation’s first and only network of public, college-prep boarding schools designed for students who need—and deserve—a 24-hour learning environment to achieve their full potential. With schools located in Washington, D.C, Baltimore, MD, Miami, FL, and soon Los Angeles, CA, our students are immersed in a rigorous academic program; they are exposed to an array of external opportunities; and they receive the social and emotional support necessary to thrive.

SEED students graduate with clear goals and the confidence to begin their college journey. And while in college, our students are paired with a SEED college success advisor who assists them every step of the way—right to college completion.

The SEED Foundation Scholarship

Because of the support of individuals like you, The SEED Foundation Scholarship has awarded nearly $1 million in scholarships since 2004. These funds have and continue to help SEED graduates break barriers. They help to open doors of opportunity. And they have helped to make way for tomorrow’s leaders, those who dare to dream big and who seek to make an impact greater than themselves.

Please join us in recognizing our past recipients’ accomplishments and in helping this year’s SEED Foundation Scholarship recipients—21 bright, young people from the Class of 2022—pursue their dreams. With your support, each recipient will receive up to $12,000 over four years ($3,000 a year) to help cover school costs such as room and board, books, technology supplies, transportation, and meals.

SEED’s scholarship recipients traditionally receive up to $12,000 over four years ($3,000 each year) to pay for college essentials—such as books, technology, housing, food and transportation.

Meet Some of Our Scholarship Recipients

Harri-Anna D. (SEED Miami '21, Howard University '25)

A natural leader, Harri-Anna served as class president for two consecutive years. During her tenure, she advocated for better catering that would offer more diverse and healthy dining options. Her strategy worked! SEED Miami now offers a greater variety of food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the students to enjoy.

While at SEED, Harri-Anna also participated in Mock Trial where she learned about the key elements of a trial—and the US legal system. “Participating in Mock Trial was an amazing experience. Being able to sit in a courtroom and to act as a lawyer for a case strengthened my interests. My family is Jamaican and Haitian, so I have seen first-hand the struggles of immigrants. I can't wait to become a lawyer and to help people in need.”

Now a freshman at Howard University, Harri-Anna is one step closer to her goals. “As a first-generation college student, my family is so excited for me, and I am committed to making them proud. I am determined to be the first person in my family to become a college graduate.”

“I plan on majoring in Robotic Engineering. I would like to start my own robotics company and be able to give jobs to people trying to turn their lives around.”
