It started, like most good things in Scranton, with a spark — a few women asking what would happen if girls were given space to be heard, to make noise, to express themselves through music and art.

That spark turned into Scranton Girls Rock, a week-long summer camp that brought 18 campers and 21 volunteers together in July 2025. The city wrapped around them with love and curiosity. Classrooms became jam spaces. Art rooms filled with color and laughter. And when the week ended with a live showcase at The Ritz Theater, something powerful happened — the lights came up, the crowd stood, and everyone realized: this was more than a camp. This was a movement.

But the real magic wasn’t just in the music. It was in the friendships formed, the courage built, the confidence found, and the feeling that this little idea had tapped into something much bigger than itself.

So instead of letting that energy fade, we decided to feed it.
And that’s how the Scranton Girls Rock Society Celebration was born — our first of many nights designed to bring the whole community back together to keep the rhythm going.

On November 23rd, 2025, we’ll gather at The V•Spot in Scranton for an evening that’s part concert, part art show, part family reunion. Campers will play alongside their counselors. Parents will get to relax and see their kids shine. Guests can paint, make bracelets, snap photos in the booth, and jump into raffles and activities throughout the night. And as always, when the jam session begins — everyone is invited to play. (Earplugs provided, of course.)

This is more than a celebration.
It’s a promise — that Scranton Girls Rock isn’t a one-time project, but a living, breathing community. It’s proof that when girls are supported, when women lead, and when a city believes in creativity as a force for good, the results echo far beyond the stage.

This is our first Society Celebration — and the beginning of a new tradition that will keep growing louder every year.

Because here in Scranton, when girls rock, we all do.
