Build Spotted Horse Mercantile

Built with intention and integrity

Welcome

Hello, I'm Amanda.

Spotted Horse Mercantile is more than a store. It is the culmination of the love, knowledge, resilience, and hope passed down through generations of my family.

For the past four years, many of you have come to know Spotted Horse Provisions through local markets and my handcrafted preserves. Together we've celebrated seasonal food, traditional preservation, and the simple joy of gathering around the table.

Now it's time to put down roots in Medford.

The Dream

Spotted Horse Mercantile will be a warm, welcoming place where:

• Seasonal preserves and pantry goods made with NJ & PA grown produce are showcased.
• Vintage treasures are given new life instead of being discarded.
• Regional artists and makers are celebrated.
• Workshops teach food preservation, sustainable living, and traditional skills.
• Every item has a story.
• Every visitor feels at home.

This is the shop my mother always dreamed of creating.

Now I have the opportunity to bring that dream to life.

Why This Matters

Building Spotted Horse has happened alongside tremendous personal loss.

After losing both my husband and my mother, I poured my energy into building this business. What began as a way to preserve food also became a way to preserve memories, family traditions, and hope.

Sorting treasured family collections. Recreating cherished recipes. Continuing the dreams of the people I loved.

Through it all, one lesson from my great-grandmother has carried me forward:

A meaningful life is built around creativity and community.

That belief has become the foundation of Spotted Horse Mercantile.

The Journey

For four years I have bootstrapped every step of Spotted Horse Provisions while continuing to teach full-time, work in the field I love, and produce everything in a commercial kitchen space.

This business has been built through grit, sacrifice, and passion.

Spotted Horse Mercantile represents the next chapter of my life—one rooted in independence, stability, purpose, and the freedom my loved ones always envisioned for me.

Why I'm Asking for Your Help

Opening a permanent storefront requires equipment and infrastructure that simply isn't possible through markets alone.

Your support will help purchase:

• Commercial refrigerator and freezer
• Display fixtures and shelving
• Workshop tables and seating
• Improved lighting
• New point-of-sale system and customer kiosk
• Exterior and interior signage
• Storage and production equipment

Every contribution helps transform this vision into a permanent gathering place for our community.

What Your Support Builds

When you support Spotted Horse Mercantile, you're helping create a place where:

• Farmers matter.
• Makers matter.
• Personal stories matter.
• Sustainable living matters.
• Community comes first.

You're helping preserve traditions while creating new ones for generations to come.

Together we can transform grief into growth, loss into legacy, and a lifelong dream into a place that inspires others.
