This July 11th, the night sky over Shelter Island will light up for the 67th Annual Fireworks Display—but only if our community steps up now.

Shelter Island Fireworks, Inc. has kept this beloved tradition alive since 2015, relying entirely on volunteer effort and community generosity. For 65 years, this show has been more than a spectacle — it's a gathering point, a source of pride, and one of the most visible expressions of who we are as an island community.

This year, we're facing a crisis. Like every household and business on this island, we're feeling the weight of rising costs—fuel, materials, and logistics. Everything is more expensive, and the gap between what we can raise and what the show costs has never been wider. Without a significant influx of funding, this year's show is at risk.

There are no paid employees. Not one. Every person who plans, organizes, and executes this show is a volunteer—your neighbors, giving their time because they love this island. Every dollar donated goes directly toward the show itself, not overhead or salaries.

We're asking you to donate—and to go one step further by rallying your own fireworks crew. Gather your family, friends, or neighbors and fundraise together. We can provide a personalized link so your group can track and share what you've raised. There's something fitting about the community that watches the fireworks together also being the community that makes them happen.

This is our fireworks show— the one your parents watched, the one your children are growing up with.
