St. James Community Development Corporation (St. James CDC - EIN 38-4137842) is at ground zero for becoming part of the proven solution to homelessness. We are building a residential village: 5 studio units that will be for youth transitioning out of the County foster care system (TAY). TAY are among the highest risk demographic for homelessness. 60% of TAY youth are forced out of San Mateo County due to the high cost of housing. St. James CDC is determined to change this. Why? This is bigger than us. We are leading the way for other communities of faith to do the same because our model is scalable and replicable. We will soon have building permits in hand but also need to have the total cost of the project, $2.4M in the bank for construction by December 31. 2025, in order to lock the cost of the project and break ground. We are half way there and with your help, can close the funding gap and start building.
