2025 Annual Giving Campaign: Lighting The Way To Our Future

Like you, our hearts are hurting. Throughout the country, laws and policies are targeting LGBTQ+ people. We are facing an administration working to ban gender-affirming care; limiting access to bathrooms, sports and other public domains; and essentially seeking to legislate legal and social recognition of only two genders.

The fear is real and we can not afford to look away.

All of us at SOJOURN are here with you to fight alongside you and for the people we hold dear in our lives. We promise to unconditionally support all people expressing the beautiful human experiences of trans, non-binary, gay, lesbian, bisexual, intersex, and everywhere else along the spectrum of gender and sexual diversity.

Our lives and our rights to exist are our birthright and our liberation is a shared fight.

We must be loudly critical of state level legislation that targets trans youth and their families, demand non-discrimination protections for LGBTQ+ folks, and ensure access to health care for all. With your support, SOJOURN can continue to be nimble and responsive to threats as they come up.

2025 FOCUS AREAS

Deftly defend Trans and LGBQ+ Youth, and lead legislative advocacy work across the South. We want our young people to have freedom to be their autonomous selves, pursue their dreams, and live with dignity — no exceptions.

Engage deeply with Jewish organizations to understand the dire impact that stigma and bias has on their gender and sexually diverse members.

Encourage Jewish organizations to come together and demonstrate what it means to be a LGBTQ+ ally and an activated partner of SOJOURN.

Nurture relationships with our LGBTQ+ youth and their families and to determine what SOJOURN needs to ‘build’ and support in our Southern communities.

$1-$99+: Emergency Crisis Funds

$100: Provides compassionate 1x1 guidance to LGBTQ+ people, their families and professionals

$180: Produce info sharing sessions like our monthly Drawing From The Well, Pathways to Progress Speakers Series, and Thrive, our legislative action meetings.

$250: Get resources like The LGBTQ+ Guide to Jewish Atlanta and Houston; How to Talk About anti-Trans legislation through a Jewish Lens, out into the community

$500: Coordinate the Jewish community for legislative action and Pride events across the South

$1,000: 1 day training & technical assistance to a Jewish community in the Southeast

$2,500: Programming for QueerHillah, the 20-30 yr social and service program.

$5,000: A year-long youth suicide prevention program.
