♥Meet Emer♥

Emer was rescued along with 3 other English Lops in September 2025. She had been left at a wildlife rescue to be used for food. Even though we were a brand new rescue with extremely limited funds, we couldn't say no to these precious souls.

Emer had her spay surgery mid January 2026. Her foster mom noticed a seroma developing near her spay incision as well as a slight head tilt. After a visit with our vet, it was agreed that exploratory surgery was needed to determine why the seroma had formed. It was also confirmed she had an ear infection, causing her head tilt.

It was confirmed Emer's seroma was not a hernia or abcess. A seroma is a pocket of fluid that builds up under the skin after surgery. It can happen when the body reacts to trauma from the procedure. Some resolve on their own — but others can grow, become uncomfortable, and signal deeper complications. But it continued to be irritated and getting larger.

Emer was taken to a specialist for a secondary consult. The vet drained 2.5 mL of serosanguineous fluid from the site and said it may fill back and need to be drained again. She also still has a head tilt to right, facial contracture, and pus in her right ear canal. Based on these signs, infection in her middle ear is likely. It was recommended to have a CT scan and surgery to remove the pus in the middle ear and open up her ear canal (partial ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy - PECALBO).

Her medical expenses have already exceeded $1,300.00 and now we desperately needs your help so Emer can have the surgery she needs. The estimate is $2855.40 → $3868.75.

For an established rescue, this is a challenge. For a brand-new rescue with very little funding — this is critical.
