But what’s legacy…if there’s no one left to listen? The time has come again for a biblical tale about how we must all come together. But this one is quite different from the rest. For this story isn't about someone, it's about No One. Forget history—this is PROPHECY. The great flood is here!

Meet the Schamonchi, a 270-ton steel ferry. Once a Martha’s Vineyard passenger boat and later a legend of Brookln’s underground art scene. When the pandemic struck, she was taken and abandoned. Half-sunken, left for the bottom of Davy Jones locker. But fate intervened, and we were given the chance to rescue her. Where most people see a shipwreck. We saw a resurrection. Welcome aboard No One’s Ark.

No One's Ark is a non-profit organization that fuses art, activism, and ecology to help clean polluted waterways here in New York City. The Schamonchi just so happens to rest on Newtown Creek, once sacred waters, now scarred by the largest on-land oil spill in US history, and the place where her revival begins. A historic marine restoration that will transform her into a floating cultural and environmental education center to help fund and support community-led rewilding efforts.

Restoring a half-sunken ferry is quite the voyage. That’s why we’re here on Kickstarter. With your support, we’ll raise this ark—not just out of the water, but into the world, to keep the hope afloat. And here’s how: Phase I (The Receipt) & II (The Rescue) are done. After sinking our entire life savings for her initial repairs, she’s nearly ready for the shipyard. Now we need YOU for Phase III (The Revival): her hull makeover. Our base goal makes her seaworthy again. But if we can stretch a little further, we’ll install renewable energy systems and upgrade ADA accessibility, ensuring the Ark sails as a symbol of sustainability for generations to come (Phase IV: The Refurbishment). And then she comes home (Phase V: The Return). We know what you’re thinking; that’s a lot of Arrrghhh’s. But the world is drowning; we need a modern-day Noah’s Ark. Every dollar doesn’t just restore steel—it revives spirit. To help fuel a movement of healing and resilience.

Using the idea of "Creative Cleanups," No One's Ark is refurbishing a historic, decommissioned ferry into a multi-faceted educational, art, and environmental center that will host various events and programs to help fund and support community-led ecological restoration projects. With a crew of pirates leading the fleet, No One's Ark amplifies the work and progress made by other local organizations who have been fighting on behalf of the water and all its inhabitants.
