I've been a theatre lover for as long as I can remember, every production I'm able to work on feels like a blessing. I've grown to love behind the scenes work, especially costumes, and have dedicated many after school days to working on whatever needs to be done for my school's many theatre productions these past years. I've found that when I'm having personal problems, theatre is a great way to escape. By giving me something to work on for weeks, it puts my mind onto projects rather than issues that make me upset. I truly care deeply about every production I'm able to be in, and seeing the products of my hard work in the end is a feeling like no other. This summer, I have been chosen to be apart of the Summer Stock Austin crew after sending an application and interviewing. Summer Stock Austin is completely free for those participating, allowing people to contribute their hard work and talent to the program no matter what their household income looks like. It's a fantastic opportunity for anyone to be a part of, which is why it's important to donate so it can continue. There are so many young people able to fulfill their passion by being involved in Summer Stock, it's a truly diverse, accessible, and accepting atmosphere. By donating, you will not only help my journey, but further this program and hundreds of others' stories along as they dedicate themselves to theatre. I cannot imagine how my life would be had I not joined theatre, it's not just an extracurricular, it has greatly impacted my life and given me so many positive traits I'll take with my for my entire life.
