This is my second year at Summerstock Austin, and I can tell you already that this program is simply amazing. SSA manages to pull together a loving, supportive community of passionate creatives to do what, in our hearts, we’re meant to do: create! Not only does SSA teach us performance oriented techniques (I learned how to do a lift :D), but it also teaches us necessary life skills, such as teamwork and confidence. Personally, one of the most important things I’ve learned from SSA is how to recognize my own self worth, which is something I’ve struggled with in the past but can now take with me wherever I go in life, whether it’s in theater or elsewhere. And I can guarantee everyone who’s a part of this takes something equally valuable away.
