South Schuylkill Unified is a new regional nonprofit working to bring people, communities, businesses, and local partners together around shared goals.

We serve Schuylkill Haven, Cressona, North Manheim, South Manheim, and Wayne Township. Our work is rooted in a simple belief: our communities are stronger when we work together.

South Schuylkill Unified helps connect people to information, support small businesses, promote community pride, and move practical projects forward. We work with residents, municipalities, volunteers, business owners, nonprofits, and community leaders to identify needs, build partnerships, and create visible progress across the region.

Our early work includes supporting local business development, pursuing Main Street revitalization efforts, helping share community news and events, strengthening regional partnerships, and connecting downtown areas to parks, trails, the Schuylkill River, and other community assets.

South Schuylkill Unified is raising funds to seed a future commercial facade improvement grant program. This program would help small businesses and commercial property owners make visible exterior improvements to storefronts, such as signage, lighting, painting, windows, doors, awnings, and other upgrades that make business areas more welcoming and attractive.

We plan to begin with an initial focus on Schuylkill Haven’s downtown and commercial corridor so the community can see real, tangible progress in one visible area. Over time, our goal is to use this first effort as a model that can grow and support commercial areas in our other member municipalities.
