While the vision for the MCIC remains, our immediate priority is supporting relief efforts in the hardest-hit regions as Jamaica begins the long process of rebuilding. Building a Brighter Future: STATHS Medical, Counseling, and Intervention Center

Introduction:
Imagine a place where every student feels safe, healthy, and supported—a place where physical, mental, and emotional well-being are prioritized. St. Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) in Kingston, Jamaica, has been a cornerstone of education and community for decades. As proud alumni, we now have the opportunity to give back to the institution that shaped us. We are embarking on an ambitious project to build a state-of-the-art Medical, Wellness, and Counseling Center, and we need your help to make this vision a reality.

The Need:
Built in 1961, STATHS was designed to accommodate around 400 students. Today, the school serves over 1,600 students, with facilities that are no longer adequate to meet their needs. The current sick bay is a cramped space lacking privacy and operational efficiency, while the counselor's offices are not strategically located, further exacerbating the challenges faced by our students and faculty.

Our Vision:
The proposed Medical, Wellness, and Counseling Center will be a 2,800 sq ft facility featuring individual offices for the nurse, counselors, and dean of discipline. It will include increased bed counts, private treatment rooms with shower facilities, waiting areas, isolation rooms, and wheelchair access. This center will provide a comprehensive range of services encompassing medical care, counseling, and disciplinary support, all within a sustainable and green environment.

It will offer a safe space for students to receive medical care, counseling, and support, addressing both immediate health concerns and long-term wellness.
