A message from Jonny's mother:

Jonathan Moon Stueve Martin—known to many as Jonny Moon—was a brilliant, creative, deeply compassionate soul whose light touched everyone who knew him.

He was a gifted writer, musician, and artist with a sharp wit, a love of language, and a rare ability to see the beauty and paradox in this world. He made people laugh, think, and feel deeply. He loved books, music, nature, and life’s wild complexities.

But Jonathan also lived with substance use disorder. He fought it for many years. In the final days of his life, he asked for help—he was ready to begin again.

Tragically, that help was denied. He was turned away from detox on August 27, 2024, and died the next morning.

Jonathan was so much more than his addiction. He was a beloved family member and friend. His life mattered. And through this fund, we hope his story helps others survive.

The Jonny Moon Harm Reduction Fund supports compassionate, evidence-based approaches that meet people where they are. Harm reduction includes access to clean supplies, overdose prevention tools, safe use education, and nonjudgmental care—strategies proven to save lives and create pathways to healing.

Helping others who struggled with substance use was something Jonathan deeply believed in. This fund carries forward that spirit of care, empathy, and action.

Our hope is that no one else is turned away, and that all who seek help will be met with the support they need—when they need it most.
