Big Paws of the Ozarks is a foster-based dog rescue dedicated to saving and improving the lives of at-risk dogs in Northwest Arkansas. We specialize in rescuing dogs from overcrowded shelters, neglectful situations, and abandonment, ensuring they receive the medical care, training, and love they need before finding their forever homes. Unlike traditional shelters, we operate entirely through a network of dedicated foster families, allowing dogs to heal and thrive in home environments while they await adoption. We also work tirelessly to support responsible pet ownership through education, spay/neuter advocacy, and behavioral training assistance.

Our work is critical because thousands of dogs in our region face euthanasia, neglect, or homelessness each year due to overpopulation and lack of resources. Beyond rescue and adoption, we collaborate with local shelters, provide behavioral evaluations to help keep dogs in homes, and advocate for progressive animal welfare policies. Through community partnerships, corporate sponsorships, and our dedicated supporters, we’re able to save hundreds of dogs each year—but with growing demand for our services, our mission is more urgent than ever. Every dog we rescue is given a second chance at life, and every supporter plays a crucial role in making that possible.
