A colony of 30 to 40 community cats has been identified in Santa Ana. The majority are intact females. Without intervention, the math compounds fast.

A single unspayed female produces three litters per year. Her kittens reach sexual maturity at four months and start breeding before their first birthday. One colony becomes three colonies in under two years.

There is a second consequence most people miss. Larger colonies attract coyotes. More cats means a more reliable food source, which draws predators deeper into neighborhoods, putting pets, wildlife, and the cats themselves at greater risk. Stabilizing colony size is not just a cat welfare issue. It is a neighborhood safety issue.

Trap, Neuter, Return is the only humane, evidence-based solution.

Volunteers humanely trap each cat. A licensed veterinarian spays or neuters, vaccinates, applies flea treatment, and ear-tips for permanent identification. Cats return to their outdoor home under the care of community feeders. Breeding stops. The colony stabilizes, then shrinks through natural attrition.

We are an all-volunteer, 100% donor-funded nonprofit serving Orange County. Every dollar goes straight to vet care, trapping supplies, and post-surgical recovery. If we get a spot at a free clinic or a resident brings a voucher, that money goes to the next colony that needs help. No salaries, no overhead bloat. We cannot adopt our way out of overpopulation. We prevent it.
