As most of you may know by now my mom Danene was diagnosed with Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) an atypical variant of Alzheimer’s. While she continues to be a bright light in our lives it is no doubt that this disease has brought enormous struggles to her life and ours. It is a devastating disease that requires a huge amount of support and resources to navigate for everyone involved. While I hope and pray one day the world finds a cure for Alzheimer’s right now the Cape Cod Alzheimer’s Family Support Center is shining their own bright light onto every family that comes their way who has been affected by this tragic disease. I have been in touch with A TON of resources and organizations and they don’t come close to comparing to the action and impact this organization is making. This is truly hands on much needed support. They have provided our family with a weekly companion for my mom, respite hours at the senior center, the most amazing social workers, lists of care centers, and truly too much more to list FREE OF COST. This organization needs to be protected and supported at all costs because we would be lost without them and I know many others would agree.
