In many parts of the world today, the seeds that nourish us have become nearly invisible. These seeds are often bred in distant regions, optimized for industrial farming rather than for local conditions. Meanwhile, dedicated individuals and organizations (seed stewards, nonprofits, seed libraries, tribal communities, and regional seed companies) are tirelessly working on the frontlines to maintain biodiversity and secure our future food supply. Unfortunately, most of their efforts rely on passion and volunteerism, leaving them under-resourced and at risk.

Your donation will support a comprehensive campaign aimed at transforming our approach to seeds by:

1. Creating a Shared Identity for Regional Seeds

We are developing a universal icon system that will clearly identify the origin of seeds. This initiative will empower growers to select varieties that are well-suited to their local climates, while ensuring that small producers receive the recognition they deserve. Key tools will include simple regional labels and a global directory.

2. Launching a National Awareness Campaign

To make seeds visible to the public, we will equip our partners with professional, open-source templates designed for social media, farmers' markets, and seed libraries. These materials will help illuminate the critical connection between seed origin and food security, inspiring communities to engage with their local food systems.

3. Building the Year 1 Foundation

Your support will fund the essential infrastructure needed to unite national seed organizations. This will involve facilitating agreements on shared language that honors ancestral stewardship, as well as creating interactive maps of regional seed companies. These resources will pave the way for greater collaboration and knowledge sharing in the seed community.
