Help us replace the four 'Welcome to St. Johnsbury' Gateway Signs this summer!

The current signs are in major disrepair. Designed decades ago by Andy & Clara Fisher–beloved members of the Town’s beautification committee–they have been there much longer than their intended lifespan.

As the signs have become more dilapidated, requests to replace them have come from business leaders and community members alike. In 2024, the Town’s Design Advisory Committee approached Discover St. Johnsbury’s Marketing Committee to ask that they take on the project.

Discover St. Johnsbury sought and received funding from the Vermont Community Foundation’s Northeast Kingdom Fund grant, as well as a USDA RBDG Cost-Share for Professional Services grant through NVDA to pay for hiring a designer and sign fabrication.

The St. Johnsbury community participated in the design process and selected a new design featuring St. Johnsbury's beloved historic architecture in April 2025.

Unfortunately, fabrication bids have come back higher than expected. The Town will provide some support, but we need your help to close the gap to raise the funds needed to install all four signs this summer. Any amount makes a difference. Thank you!
