I have been fortunate to have worked at the entrance to the Toy Shop almost every year that I have been on the Board. It is a very emotional experience to see the excitement of the parents as they get their first peak into our Toy Shop. I get to laugh and joke around with them dressed in my elf hat. They are often moms who have waited in line for over two hours just to make the holiday season special for their little loved ones. I can also see the pain that is woven into their beings. Many may experience domestic violence and what they are doing at the Toy Shop will ease some of that stress. The generous efforts of the community improves the lives of these families during the holidays, bringing a smile to their children that they can cherish for years to come.
