BECAUSE BASIC NEEDS MATTER 💜

A girl should not have to miss school because she does not have menstrual products.

She should not have to stay home because she does not have clean clothes, hygiene supplies, transportation, food, or the school supplies she needs.

These are basic needs.

She Is Us United Inc. mentors girls and young women, primarily ages 11 to 18 and older, through leadership development, nutrition, mental and behavioral health awareness, social connectedness, health and wellness, career exposure, community engagement, service, and meaningful experiences.

But we also understand something very important:

We cannot mentor around unmet basic needs.

Before a girl can fully focus on her education, confidence, leadership, health, and future, she needs to feel clean, fed, prepared, safe, supported, and able to participate.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 to help us meet those needs while continuing to provide mentorship and opportunities throughout the year.

WHAT YOUR GIFT CAN HELP PROVIDE

$10 | HYGIENE ESSENTIALS

Helps provide basic personal-care items such as soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, and other hygiene products.

Something as simple as having the products needed to shower, brush your teeth, use deodorant, and care for yourself can affect how comfortable and confident a young person feels walking into school or participating in everyday life.

$25 | MENSTRUAL CARE

Helps provide menstrual pads and other period-care essentials.

Menstrual care is not a one-time need. Girls need these products every month.

No girl should have to miss school, stay home from mentorship, worry about staining her clothing, or feel embarrassed because she does not have adequate menstrual products.

We want our girls to have access to what they need to manage their periods with comfort, privacy, and dignity.

$50 | SCHOOL SUPPLY SUPPORT

School supplies are needed for more than the first week of school.

A $50 gift can help provide notebooks, folders, binders, paper, pens, pencils, calculators, backpacks, journals, project supplies, and other classroom necessities.

Our goal is to help keep girls equipped throughout the entire school year, including when supplies run out, projects come up, something gets lost or damaged, or a family simply cannot afford another round of supplies.

A girl should be able to focus on learning, not on what she is missing.

$75 | NUTRITION & FOOD ACCESS

Helps provide nutritious meals, healthy snacks, emergency food assistance, or transportation to food pantries and community food resources.

Some young people may miss breakfast, skip lunch, experience food shortages at home, or have gaps in access to food during weekends, school breaks, emergencies, or other difficult periods.

We do not want our girls going hungry.

Nutrition affects concentration, energy, health, learning, mood, and overall well-being.

When we cannot directly meet a food need, we want to help connect girls and families with community resources that can.

$100 | LAUNDRY ACCESS

Clean clothes are a basic need.

A $100 gift can help cover laundromat costs and transportation for girls and families who need assistance accessing laundry services.

If laundry costs approximately $10 to $15 per girl per visit, helping 10 girls wash and dry their clothing twice a month could require approximately $200 to $300 per month, before transportation costs.

We are not buying washing machines.

We are helping make sure a girl has a reasonable way to wash her clothes and have clean clothing for school and everyday life.

Clean clothes affect hygiene, comfort, confidence, school participation, and dignity.

$150 | TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT

An opportunity is not truly accessible if a girl cannot get there.

Transportation support can help girls access approved mentorship activities, libraries, community resources, educational programs, leadership opportunities, food resources, health and wellness activities, volunteer opportunities, and other services.

Sometimes the barrier is not whether an opportunity exists.

It is simply having a way to get there.

$250 | EMERGENCY NEEDS FUND

Life happens, and sometimes a girl’s needs cannot wait until the next fundraiser.

A $250 contribution helps give She Is Us United Inc. flexibility to respond to unexpected needs affecting the girls we serve.

That may include an urgent clothing need, emergency transportation, replacement school items, a short-term food need, basic household necessities, or another immediate barrier affecting a girl’s ability to safely participate in school, mentorship, or everyday life.

Sometimes the most important support is the support available when something unexpected happens.

$500 | HURRICANE & EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

Hurricane season in Florida is real.

Heavy rain, hurricanes, tropical systems, flooding, power outages, transportation disruptions, and school closures can create additional challenges for families already working with limited resources.

A $500 gift can help us prepare for or respond to emergency needs through items such as bottled water, shelf-stable food, flashlights, batteries, basic preparedness supplies, emergency transportation, and connections to available community resources.

She Is Us United Inc. is not replacing emergency-management agencies or disaster-relief organizations.

Our role is to help make sure our girls are not forgotten when an emergency affects their everyday stability.

$1,000 | MENTORSHIP & DEVELOPMENT SPONSORSHIP

This is where we help girls grow beyond today’s needs and begin exploring who they can become.

A $1,000 sponsorship helps strengthen our mentorship and youth-development work through:

Leadership development

Mental and behavioral health education

Nutrition and wellness education

Social connectedness

Community engagement

Career exposure

Health education

Volunteerism and service

Confidence building

Community leadership

Educational and cultural experiences

We want our girls learning how to communicate, build relationships, ask questions, understand community resources, explore different careers, care for their physical and emotional well-being, serve others, and confidently move through spaces they may not have experienced before.

We want them to discover what they love.

We also want them to have enough experiences to discover what they do not love.

Both are part of growing up.

$2,500+ | PROGRAM & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP

A contribution of $2,500 or more helps strengthen the larger infrastructure necessary to serve girls consistently.

This level can help support coordinated youth programming, community partnerships, group transportation, leadership activities, health and wellness initiatives, educational experiences, community engagement, outreach, mentorship activities, and the operational resources necessary to turn ideas into actual opportunities for girls.

Businesses, foundations, healthcare organizations, civic organizations, and community partners interested in larger sponsorships are invited to connect with us about supporting a specific initiative or broader portion of our work.

She Is Us United Inc. goes beyond career exposure.

We are working to support the whole girl.

That means addressing nutrition, mental health, behavioral health, wellness, social connectedness, leadership, community engagement, education, mentorship, service, confidence, and exposure to opportunities.

We want girls to know their communities.

We want them to understand the resources available to them.

We want them to meet people doing work they have never considered.

We want them to develop leadership skills.

We want them to care for their physical and emotional health.

We want them to build relationships.

We want them to serve.

We want them to feel comfortable asking for help when they need it.

And we want them to know that needing help with a basic necessity does not make their dreams any smaller.

We cannot mentor around unmet basic needs.
