The Vision

She Is Us United, Inc. is a trauma-informed community health organization serving women and girls in Collier County, Florida. We started in Ohio and rebuilt in Florida. We are now fully operational and actively collecting community health data, running programming, and building the infrastructure that this community has never had.

We exist because the women who need support the most are the ones the system has never properly asked about. Not the right questions. Not in the right language. Not in the right spaces. Federal surveys miss them. Hospital data does not capture them. Government programs do not reach them.

We are changing that. Through Project RESET, our community health data initiative, we collect firsthand health and wellness data from women and girls across three age groups right here in Collier County. We ask the questions nobody else asks, about mental health, behavioral health, nutrition and culture, spirit and identity, and coping and hope. We use that data to build programs, connect women to resources, and show funders and health systems exactly where the gaps are and what needs to be built.

We do not treat symptoms. We go to the root. That is the entire premise of She Is Us United.

What Is Project RESET

Project RESET is our flagship community health data and healing initiative. It combines three tools working together.

The Community Health Survey is a 25-question trauma-informed survey available in three age-specific versions for girls ages 11 to 18, young women ages 19 to 40, and women ages 41 and older. Every question was written to capture what life actually looks like for women and girls in underserved communities, the kind of data that does not show up in any government database or hospital report.

The Reset Journal is a proprietary 12-week guided healing journal developed by She Is Us United. It walks participants through the five domains of our model, Roots and Safety, Mind and Body Connection, Nourishment and Culture, Spirit Identity and Voice, and Coping Community and Hope. Every two weeks participants complete a digital check-in so we can track progress and stay connected to what they are experiencing in real time.

The Biweekly Check-In is a consistent touchpoint between She Is Us United staff and participants. Twice a month we hold virtual or in-person sessions to review responses, assess needs, provide support, and ensure no woman falls through the cracks between intake and follow-up.

Together these three tools produce the kind of community health intelligence that hospitals need for their community health needs assessments, that funders need to make investment decisions, and that women need to finally feel seen and heard by an organization that takes their data seriously.

What Is Deep-Rooted Trauma

Most mental health support treats what is on the surface: anxiety, depression, anger, withdrawal. Deep-rooted trauma is what is underneath those symptoms. The original wound, often formed in childhood or repeated across years, that the nervous system never finished processing. It shows up in how a woman parents, who she chooses to love, how she responds to stress, and whether she believes she is allowed to ask for help at all.

You cannot heal deep-rooted trauma by managing its symptoms. You have to go to the root. That is the entire premise of She Is Us United.

The RESET Framework

RESET is the trauma-informed model at the center of everything we do, guiding women and girls from crisis to stability, and from stability to transformation.

R — Recognize: Recognize the pain, trauma, stress, or behavioral health challenges affecting your life. Awareness is the first step toward healing.

E — Evaluate: Evaluate your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, triggers, relationships, and environment. Identify what is helping and what is harming your well-being.

S — Stabilize: Establish safety, support systems, healthy coping skills, and basic needs. Focus on housing, nutrition, sleep, healthcare, and emotional regulation.

E — Empower: Build confidence, resilience, self-advocacy, and life skills. Develop a vision for your future beyond survival.

T — Transform: Turn healing into growth. Create a new chapter rooted in purpose, wellness, and sustainable success.

This is RESET. This is how she heals.

What We Are Doing Right Now

She Is Us United is active and operational in Collier County right now.

We are running Project RESET, collecting community health survey data from women and girls across three age groups through trauma-informed outreach at community events, church sites, food distribution centers, and farmworker communities in Immokalee and Naples.

We are distributing the Reset Journal to active participants and running biweekly check-in sessions to support them through the 12-week healing process.

We are holding monthly community health sessions where women can take the survey, receive resource information, and connect with She Is Us United staff in a safe and welcoming environment.

We are producing monthly community health data reports that document what we are learning from our participants and share it with partner organizations, hospital systems, and health departments working to improve conditions in Collier County.

We are building toward a physical home in Collier County where mental health counseling, behavioral health support, holistic healing, nutritional wellness, and youth programming live under one roof instead of scattered across whatever space we can find.

We are doing this work right now with limited resources and unlimited commitment. Your donation funds the tools, the staff, the spaces, and the materials that allow us to reach the women and girls who need us most. Every dollar goes directly into the community.

A Note from Our Founder

I have been in survival mode since I was nine years old, the first time my mother put me out of the house. I did not fall apart. I adopted a street mentality that taught me how to read people, navigate danger, and keep moving when everything around me said stop. That mentality saved my life more than once, and it still serves me today.

I became a mother for the first time at 14 years old in 2001. I raised my son, and then 13 years later in 2014, I had my daughter. I have raised both of my children, for significant stretches of their lives, as a single mother with no help and no child support. Every decision I made from that point forward, I made with them in mind and with no safety net underneath me.

In 2022, I was in a domestic violence situation that the system was not able to resolve. The case did not move forward, and I was left without justice, without protection, and without anyone coming to help. He left. I had to stay in Florida and figure out what came next on my own.

What came next was an 18-month journey through homelessness across multiple cities in Florida. I was not homeless in one place. I navigated Kissimmee, Tampa, Sebring, Lakeland, Miami, and Lake Placid before I finally found stability in Collier County. I slept in shelters. I slept in my car. I kept going to school the entire time, finishing my degrees in healthcare administration while I had nowhere permanent to lay my head. My family turned their back on me. I had no one to call.

And through all of it, I was healing from physical trauma on top of everything else. In 2019, I broke my ankle in three different places and underwent surgery to have two plates and ten screws placed. In September 2024, I had to go back under the knife to have all of it removed. And in August 2025, I underwent major back surgery. My body has been through as much as my spirit, and I have refused to let either one of them quit. I have had to learn how to heal in real time, while still showing up, still building, still being a mother, and still leading this organization forward.

Here is what I want you to understand. I did not just create the RESET Framework as a concept. I lived it. I applied it to my own life before I ever put it on paper.

I started with Recognize. I had to stop running from what had happened to me and actually name it. The childhood abandonment. The teen motherhood. The domestic violence. The homelessness. The physical pain. The surgeries. I had to look at all of it and call it what it was before I could do anything about it.

Then came Evaluate. I had to look honestly at what was helping me and what was harming me. The coping strategies I had developed on the street that kept me alive but were no longer serving the woman I was trying to become. The relationships that were draining me. The beliefs I had about what I deserved.

Then Stabilize. I focused on getting grounded. Getting my basic needs met. Building a routine. Finding housing. Taking care of my body. Learning to regulate my nervous system through breathwork, movement, and intentional rest instead of just pushing through everything on adrenaline and survival instinct.

Then Empower. I went back to school. I finished my bachelor’s degree and my master’s degree in healthcare administration. I started building credentials, credibility, and a vision for my future that went beyond just surviving the next crisis. I found yoga, reiki, meditation, and holistic healing practices that helped me reconnect to myself in ways I had never experienced before.

And then Transform. I stopped waiting for someone to build what I needed and started building it myself. I took every painful thing I had lived through and turned it into a framework, an organization, and a mission that now reaches other women who are standing exactly where I once stood.

RESET worked for me. That is not a marketing statement. That is my life. And that is why I know it can work for the women and girls we serve.

I could have gone down a very different path. I have seen what that path does to women who grew up the way I did. Instead, I chose to heal. I found my way back to myself, and through that process I found a purpose I never knew existed.

Being a woman in this world is hard. Full stop. The weight that women carry, across every background and every community, is rarely seen, rarely honored, and rarely addressed by the systems that are supposed to serve them. We deserve real mental health support. We deserve real behavioral health care. We deserve programs that ask the real questions and actually listen to the answers. We deserve to heal the root, not just manage the symptoms.

I built the RESET Framework because I needed it and it did not exist. I am building She Is Us United because the next woman in survival mode deserves a hand reaching back for her, the way no one reached for me.

This is not charity. This is restitution for every woman the system failed. This is the organization I wish had existed when I was nine, when I was fourteen, when I was homeless and navigating cities alone with my children and nowhere to go. I am building it now so she never has to go through it alone.

$50 — Keeps Us Running: Covers our monthly operational costs including our survey platform, virtual meeting tools, community newsletter, and phone line. The backbone that keeps us connected to the women we serve.

$100 — Holistic Healing Session: Funds one full community healing session including facilitation, space, and materials for participants working through the Reset Journal and biweekly check-in process.

$250 — Full Participant Support: Covers the complete cost of supporting one woman through the full Project RESET cycle, including her survey intake, Reset Journal, biweekly check-ins, and 90-day follow-up.

$500 — Community Health Data Report: Funds the production and distribution of one monthly community health data report documenting what our surveys reveal about the health needs of women and girls in Collier County and sharing those findings with local health systems and partner organizations.

$1,000 — Community Health Summit Sponsor: Helps fund our community health events where we bring free screenings, mental health resources, survey outreach, and healing programming directly into the neighborhoods that need it most.

Where is your physical location? We do not have a permanent location yet. We operate through mobile outreach, community partnerships, and virtual programming across Collier County while we raise the funds to secure our first physical home. Our outreach is strongest in Naples and Immokalee.

What happens if you do not reach the full goal? Every dollar raised goes directly into active programming, materials, data collection, and our path toward a physical home. Nothing sits unused. Every contribution moves the work forward.

How is my donation used? One hundred percent of donations fund direct programming, outreach materials, participant support, data reporting, and organizational operations. We do not have paid executive salaries at this stage. The founder is invested in this work personally and professionally.
