Rural Volunteer Fire Fighter Protective Turnout Gear Fundraiser

A volunteer firefighter may be the person who comes when your family, your neighbor, or your community needs help. We have an opportunity to make sure that person has the protection they need when they answer the call. A complete set of turnout gear costs approximately $4,500. Our goal is to purchase 10 replacement sets.

When the Call Comes, Our Neighbors Answer

Help equip the volunteer who stands ready to protect our rural communities!

They answer the call. Let's stand behind them.

Every time a volunteer firefighter responds to a structure fire, vehicle accident, wildfire, or other emergency, they put themselves in harm's way to help someone else.

When the fire tones drop, a volunteer firefighter doesn't ask whether it's convenient.

They leave work.
They leave dinner.
They leave their families.
They get in their truck and answer the call.

In rural Lake County, our volunteer fire departments are an essential part of the safety net that protects our communities. These firefighters give their time, training, and courage to serve their neighbors.

We believe our community should show up for them, too.

The Lake County Public Safety Committee is raising funds to help provide firefighter turnout gear for rural volunteer fire departments in Lake County. A complete set of protective coat and pants costs approximately $4,500. This specialized equipment is critical to firefighter safety, has an expected service life of about 10 years, which degrades over time.

For rural volunteer departments working with limited resources, replacing aging gear can be a significant challenge. That's where our community can make a difference. We are looking to replace 10 turnouts this year.

Your donation helps put safety equipment into the hands of the people who put themselves between danger and their neighbors, and EVERY gift matters!

$25 matters in providing essential gear support.

$100 matters in equipping volunteers with protective gear.

$500 matched with $500 from 8 of your friends, funds a turnout set.

$1000 makes a significant dent in helping our volunteer firefighters stay safe out there.

And a $4,500 gift makes you a Community Champion in helping fund a complete set of turnout gear!

This Is What Neighbors Helping Neighbors Looks Like.

This campaign isn't about one organization doing something for a community. It's about a community coming together to support the people who serve it. The Lake County Public Safety Committee is bringing together:

Volunteer firefighters who serve our communities.
Community members who want to help.
Local businesses and sponsors who invest in rural Lake County.
Volunteers who give their time.
Donors who make the equipment possible.

Together, we're building a stronger safety network, one firefighter, one department, and one community at a time.

The Problem: Rural fire departments rely heavily on volunteers, often with limited equipment budgets. Turnout gear is essential protective equipment, but it is also expensive, has a 10 year useable life that degrades over time, and must be replaced as it wears out. We have about 70 volunteer firefighters in Lake County who rely on these suits to protect them when responding to emergencies.

The community solution: Help equip the firefighters who protect homes, families, businesses, farms, forests and communities. When the call comes, they go! Let's help bring them home safely.

One critical investment in rural emergency response
One firefighter better equipped to respond with confidence
One more volunteer protected while serving our community
One powerful example of compassion in our community

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
