Shredford — The organization that shreds!

After two years of meeting with our Parks Department and the mayor’s office, listening to our community, and laying the groundwork for what comes next, we’re stoked to announce that Shredford is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit!

This is a huge step forward—and it means we can get to work.

As a nonprofit, Shredford can pursue grants, build meaningful partnerships, raise funds, and work alongside our community to create better opportunities and spaces for the people who call Bedford home.

Our first initiative: a new concrete skatepark

Our first major goal is to replace Bedford’s current skatepark with a concrete, all-wheel park that welcomes skateboarders, BMX riders, roller skaters, and more from throughout Lawrence County.

But our work won’t end at the skatepark.

Shredford’s mission is to uplift local youth and strengthen our community through safe, accessible spaces and programming centered around skateboarding and other positive activities.

We believe having a strong community and a safe place to do what you love can make a lifelong impact.

Rooted in community

Many of you have already donated, purchased prints, shared our mission, volunteered your time, or contributed your skills and services to help make Shredford possible. Those early contributions directly helped cover the costs of establishing our organization and achieving federal tax-exempt status.

For that, we can’t thank you enough.

Now, we’re ready to build on that momentum.

Over the coming months, our board will be working hard to establish the foundation Shredford needs to thrive. From fundraising and community outreach to partnerships, programming, and the long-term work required to make a new skatepark a reality.

We’re also looking for passionate advocates who want to help shape what Shredford becomes. Our goal is to build a skilled, well-rounded board that represents skateboarding, BMX, roller skating, our youth, and the broader community we serve.

Help us get Shredford rolling

As a brand-new nonprofit, every contribution makes a meaningful difference.

Your donation will help us grow Shredford, advocate for a new skatepark, develop future programming, and bring new energy to a scene that has meant so much to generations of people in our community.

We’re excited for what’s ahead—and we hope you’ll join us for the ride. 🛹
