Welcome to a Journey of Empowerment and Legacy

Since opening its doors in August 2015, Lillie May Carroll Jackson Charter School (LMCJS) has been more than just an educational institution. It's a beacon of hope and empowerment for 250 scholars in grades 5-8 and is set to expand its reach to 350 scholars. At LMCJS, education transcends traditional boundaries. We are an Expeditionary Learning (EL) School, born from the principles of Outward Bound, emphasizing dynamic, challenging, and meaningful learning.

Our educational philosophy is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about actively engaging each student with content that resonates with their lives, helping them develop skills and broaden experiences. We've created an environment where learning is public, collaborative, and connects deeply with our community.

A Tradition of Celebrating Excellence

Our Legacy Builders Brunch, inaugurated last year, has rapidly become a cherished event, celebrating women who have significantly contributed to nurturing black and brown girls. It's more than an event; it's a movement, a gathering space for connection, learning, and rejuvenation for those dedicated to empowering our community.

Scheduled for March 16, 2024, at our historic school at 2200 Sinclair Lane, Baltimore, MD, the event promises profound discussions and shared insights among educators, students, and community leaders.
