Celebrating Queer Joy

One of the RBCC's core missions is to cultivate, create space for, and celebrate queer joy. The world can be a lot to carry and it is vital to our collective well-being that we take time to exist in the moment, unabashedly moved by beauty, connection, and vibrant life, particularly in the wake of hard times.

Fae Revelry

Gender is a costume and costumes are fun. Our theme this year is a cross between Midsummer Night's Dream and the Goblin King's ballroom. Out of the deep wood come an intriguing collection of entrancing fae, feral goblins, mysterious cryptids, and finely attired humans in a web of sensual delirum.

Costumes are NOT required, but we will have goodies for the most dazzling, delightful, and deviously dressed. Dress to feel good and shake your booty.

Details:

Place: Barre Elk's Club
Who: 18+ queer folks and enthusiastic accomplices.
Time: Doors open at 5 PM. Dancing starts at 6 PM. We will have lower volume music playing before the dance to allow folks to visit our table, learn about the RBCC, Barre Up, our community partners, ask questions, and get food/drink if you wish.
Music: DJ Volney.
Accessibility: There's elevator access at the right-hand side of the building. Both the dance floor, the mezzanine, and the bathroom are accessible. We will have space on the mezzanine to take a break from the press of people and noise where you can observe the dance from above - chairs will be set up.
Cost: $10 gets you in the door, $15 supports both the RBCC & sends a $5 donation to Barre Up, Barre's long-term disaster recovery organization.
Refreshments: Food and drink will be served from Barre Elk's.
