The History Live! presentation series features prominent authors, historians, community leaders, and subject experts who focus on topics that illuminate San Francisco’s incredible history. Over 12,000 people have viewed the series!

Museum of SF Cinematic Opener

The San Francisco Historical Society preserves, presents, and promotes the city’s history, arts, and culture for the past, present, and future. We do this through museum exhibits, publications (The Argonaut and Panorama), historical walking tours, monthly History Live! presentations, and innovative programs for young people.

Our Museum of San Francisco is located at the site of the first branch mint in the West, in the heart of the city’s historic core. It is the only museum devoted to the history of our city. Admission is free.
