As we approach the end of another impactful year at True Star, we are excited to launch our newest initiative to better serve our youth, our "Sprint into 2025" campaign. Our goal is to raise $60,000 to purchase a convertible sprinter van - an essential resource for expanding our programming and eliminating transportation barriers for our youth. We need your support to ensure our youth have a safe, reliable mode of transportation to get to and from job sites.

In Chicago, transportation is a significant challenge for youth, particularly those from underserved communities. Research indicates that nearly 30% of Chicago youth experience transportation barriers, which can severely limit their access to education, employment, and extracurricular activities. Transportation remains a barrier for our youth, as many students find it difficult to afford the cost of ridesharing services, with a single $50 Uber ride from one side of the city to another being unfeasible.

By eliminating the transportation barriers that many of our students face, we will enhance their ability to cover events, provide digital content services to small businesses, and seize opportunities that foster their growth and development. This versatile vehicle will accommodate up to 15 passengers and will be built to easily transform into a mobile media studio.

Your support can help bring True Star’s vision of a mobile media studio to life—enabling us to engage more youth, record and edit videos and podcasts on the go, share breaking news in real time, and provide onsite training to more students across the city of Chicago.
