August’s Empowerment Circle invited us to return to our center and find greater steadiness during seasons of change. In September, we continue that journey by pausing at the threshold of a new season—honoring what has grown, noticing what may have completed its season, and choosing what we want to carry forward.

As we approach the autumn equinox, we will draw inspiration from the season’s themes of harvest, transition, and the changing relationship between light and darkness. Rather than striving for perfect balance, participants will explore how different parts of life can coexist: gratitude and grief, growth and rest, holding on and letting go, uncertainty and hope.

We will also respectfully acknowledge the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi, whose relationship with this land continues today. Their cultural history recognizes harvest and seasonal change within the context of community, relationship, and celebration. We honor this living tradition without attempting to recreate practices that are not ours.

September is Suicide Prevention Month, National Recovery Month, and Self-Care Awareness Month. Through a trauma-informed lens, we will explore the people, relationships, practices, and inner resources that sustain us. Participants will be invited to consider what supports hope, connection, recovery, and a sense of belonging as they enter the season ahead.

Through grounding, reflection, sensory awareness, and time with the horses, participants will recognize what they have cultivated, identify what continues to nourish them, and choose an intention for what comes next.

No horse experience is necessary. All activities are completed from the ground, and participation is always invitational.

Please RSVP to reserve your space. A minimum of three participants is required for the group to convene. If that threshold is not met, registered participants will be notified in advance.

Each circle is thoughtfully curated, and your RSVP helps us prepare enough printed materials for everyone and gives us the ability to contact you if there are any changes.

Facilitation

Circles are facilitated by trained professionals, including Stacey Garcelon-Williams, LMHC; Destiny Nugent, LMSW; and/or a master’s-level intern.
