Help Little Strudel Fight for His Life!
Help Us Give Little Strudel the Healthy, Happy Life He Deserves!
Strudel’s journey has been a hard one, and this tiny boy needs our community now more than ever.
Little Strudel arrived with six other cavapoos from a breeder. At under 9lbs, he was painfully thin, weak, and clearly unwell. From the moment we picked him up, something felt wrong. He wouldn’t eat or drink, and he curled up in the crate next to his brother, terrified and shut down.
He had never even been in a car before. On the trip from the breeder, to our transporter, and then to his foster home, Strudel vomited each time from fear and sickness. His little body was covered in ticks and scabs—likely from past tick bites—and he looked absolutely defeated.
Then things got worse.
Less than 24 hours after arriving in foster care, Strudel began vomiting blood. He had repeated vomiting and diarrhea, and a dehydration test showed he was in serious danger. We rushed him to the emergency hospital where the vet told us he was extremely dehydrated and on the verge of going into shock. Had we waited, Strudel may not have survived.
He was immediately hospitalized, put on IV fluids, given antibiotic injections, anti-nausea meds, and treated for parasites and tick-borne illnesses. He also tested positive for Giardia.
After nearly two days in the hospital, Strudel was finally strong enough to be released Monday evening. He went home with four medications, and slowly — bravely — he started to improve. By Tuesday he began to perk up, and on Wednesday he finally showed us that spark we’d been praying for.
Strudel is a fighter.
But his emergency care bill is high, and we need help covering the cost of saving his life.
Please donate and help us reach our $2,000 goal for Strudel’s medical care.
Every dollar truly makes a difference for this tiny, gentle boy who has already endured so much.
